Georgia Southern’s Williams Center welcomes students to an open house on campus. The Williams center is located on Georgia Avenue where several departments are located. This includes the office of student activities, student media, office of multicultural affairs, office of fraternity and sorority life, career and professional development, first and second experience, and eagle essentials food pantry.
The Williams Center contains departments that assist in university programming, engage in student life, and coordinate campus events.
Students were greeted at the door with staff and were given a chance to spin the wheel to win prizes such as cups, water bottles, and highlighters.
Inside, there was a chance to win a grand prize that included a book bag, office chair, headphones, and cups.
Staff provided snacks and bags for students to grab on their way as they toured the building.
Staff from each department arranged tables and handed out pamphlets of information for students to take.
This event had fun games such as connect four and jenga for students to get to know one another and faculty.
I spoke to Kevin Reese, Director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs, who told me about the process of setting this event up for students.
“We all came together to help some of the resources they had in this building, there’s a lot that goes on in the Williams Center and a lot of the fun stuff that goes on here. So tell your friends the fun stuff is here .”
This open house was a great way for students to get to know the departments that arrange the campus events and be involved in student life.
