Dingus MaGee’s, the historic bar and restaurant near Georgia Southern was named runner up in the 2024 “Best Bar in Braves Country” competition, allowing them to give out official Braves merchandise to students.

Kenney Owens, one manager at Dingus MaGee’s, explained that their former social media manager discovered the competition and entered them into it. Competition winners were determined by fan nominations, best website, best social media and the best submitted essay. 

While Sidelines Grilles in Holly Springs won the grand prize of the competition, Dingus became one of the five runner ups and won a swag bag of Braves merchandise. These merch items including baseball hats, posters, game schedules and more, will be given to students and other customers as door or bingo prizes.

Owens said that winning the competition showed that “People enjoy what we do, the atmosphere that we provide.” He also thanked everyone for voting for them in the competition, and showing their support for watching the Braves at Dingus.
