Businesses along Statesboro’s Blue Mile will be offering discounts to Georgia Southern University students, faculty and staff and the Statesboro community on game days and Averitt Center performances days.

Before or after any game day or Averitt Center event, patrons can bring their same-day ticket to participating businesses to get special discounts, said in the Blue Mile meeting last November.

Students also may receive a discount for presenting their Eagle ID or by wearing GS attire.

“It’s a great idea, especially for the people of the Averitt Center,” Hiya Guha sophomore computer science major said. “Having the discounts after the shows will entice people to go see more of the performances.”

Many businesses along the Blue Mile will offer discounts including:

• 40 East Grill: Free appetizer with any lunch or dinner entree
• Beaver House: Free drink with any meal
• Big Boy Cookies: 10 percent off total purchase
• CAKE: 10 percent off total bill (excluding special orders)
• Cool Beanz Espresso Bar: 10 percent off total bill
• Del Sur Taqueria & Cantina: 10 percent off food purchase
• Eagle Creek Brewing Company: 10 percent off total bill
• El Sombrero (Fair Rd.): 15 percent off total bill
• El Sombrero (Northside Drive & Buckhead Drive Locations): 10 percent off total bill
• Gee Da’s Table: Free appetizer with purchase of two entrees
• Gnat’s Landing: 10 percent off food purchase
• Holiday’s Pizza: Complimentary bread twists with any food purchase
• Little Italy: 10 percent off total bill
• Nonna Picci: Buy any size pizza, get the second half off
