Last night, hundreds of students came together in Hanner Fieldhouse to watch different student organizations perform at the Annual Doo-Dah Dance & Step Show, put on by the University Programming Board and the Office of Student Activities.
Filled with loud music, glow sticks, and high energy, the event always had something going on. DJ Nino, who has been at several events hosted by UPB and OSA made sure to keep the music going and get people moving.
Once the show started, each group had a routine and a theme centered around sweets/candy, to coincide with the “Sweet Southern” homecoming theme. The groups were split into three categories: doo-dah, dance, and step. The results for each category are as follows.
Doo Dah:
- 1st Place: Chi Omega
- 2nd Place: Alpha Omicron Pi and Alpha Delta Pi
- 3rd Place: Phi Mu
“It’s a breath of fresh air knowing that all of our hard work paid off, and it makes me so happy that we got to experience this,” said Baker Riley, co-captain for the Chi Omega team.
“These girls have worked so hard, and they are all so deserving,” co-captain Gracie Thornton added.
Dance:
- 1st Place: Dyversion Dance Team
- 2nd Place: K-Pop Culture & Appreciation
Step:
- 1st Place: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
It’s a long process to get to this point. All teams worked hard to craft the perfect team, and the event was nothing short of entertaining for the students and faculty who attended.
