Early/advanced voting is a period when registered voters can vote in person and avoid crowds on election day. It can help with busy schedules and beat traffic. Georgia’s in-person early voting period began on October 14th and will end on November 1st, right before the presidential election on November 5th, according to georgia.gov.
During this early voting period, Georgia Southern University (GSU)’s Statesboro campus will serve as an early voting location for faculty, staff, students, and all registered voters in Bulloch County from October 22nd to October 26th, according to the GSU website. The location is the Russell Union (85 Georgia Avenue, Statesboro, GA 30458).
Other early voting locations in Statesboro include the Bulloch County Annex (113 North Main Street, Suite 201, from October 15th to November 1st, closed on October 20th and 27th) and the Downtown Statesboro Development (64 East Main St., from October 28th to November 1st)
If you, or someone you know, is blind or has low vision, polls can offer audio ballots and booths for voters in wheelchairs. You can also ask a friend or family member to come with you and help fill in your choices on the ballot. If you cannot vote in person, either early or on election day, you can request an absentee ballot, where you can vote by mail. Absentee ballots in Georgia must be requested before October 25th.
