The deadline to request an absentee ballot is tomorrow.
To request an absentee ballot go to the Georgia Secretary of State website and fill out the application. The application is available to every registered voter. It may take up to two weeks to receive your ballot once you submit your application
According to georgia.gov, absentee ballots give voters the option to send their ballot via mail, a specific ballot drop box or in person at the county registrar’s office.
If you choose to vote by mail it is crucial to send your absentee ballot early enough to arrive at the county election office by Election Day. Your vote will not count if your ballot is not received by 7 pm on Election Day.
To drop your ballot off in person, visit your county registrar’s office to find the designated drop-off location. If you are a voter who is disabled, a member of your household can deliver your ballot for you.
Chatham County has three official drop boxes that are only available during the early voting period, Oct. 15 – Nov. 1.
- Voter Registration Office (1117 Eisenhower Dr, Suite E)
- Mosquito Control Board (65 Billy B. Hair Drive)
- Islands Library (50 Johnny Mercer Blvd.)
Once your send off your ballot, you can keep track of its status by visiting your My Voter Page.
