Located at 25 S. Main St., you will find The Flowergirl, Statesboro’s local flower arrangement shop. Jackie Phillips, the owner, works day and night to create floral arrangements and designs for events around the community.

Phillips has owned her shop in Downtown Statesboro for the last 14 years. “I love all of the community events they have here,” she explained. “There’s so much foot traffic and so many people are in the area on a daily basis.”

While walking around the downtown area, the shop is easy to see, because every season, Phillips creates a floral arrangement outside to go along with the time of year.

“I love doing it because there’s so many different photoshoots that happen, and it’s so fun seeing the people and photographers,” Phillips said.

Inside, it doesn’t look like a typical floral shop. All of Phillip’s work is custom, starting with a consultation. “I do a lot of weddings, so at a typical consultation, we look at colors and themes, and I take a look at all their ideas and dreams,” Phillips said. “After that, I give them size options and tell them what will and won’t work.”

Leading up to the events, Phillips ensures constant communication with the client and works hard to bring their ideas to life.

“The most rewarding part of what I do is seeing people cry when they see the finished product,” she said. “For weddings, the flowers are the final accessory, so it feels good when they see it all come together.”
