Many students have noticed over the last month the black boxes in the library. They have notes with the words “This is NOT a trash can”. Then what are they?
Over this weekend the library has filled these boxes with plants, bringing life and greenery to the second floor of the library.
Librarian Timothy Lowder say’s the library placed these “pots” awaiting the arrival of their fresh plants but their order took longer than expected.
These pots were soon filled with trash since they were placed in corners, which led to the creation of the “This is NOT a trash can” poster.
Lowder shared his picture of a real trash can with this note:
“If they aren’t trash cans, then what are they? They had to hold something, was my thought. Either a pot or a trash can.” IT assistant Connor Maddem says. He says many people are asked in the morning shift “what are they then?”.
The second floor of the library is filled with plant life after empty pots have been waiting for over a month.
