The 2025 Grammy nominations have been published: let’s see who tops nominations and who got left out.
Thank you Beyonce
According to the Grammy artist profile, Beyonce has 99 Grammy nominations and is nominated for 11 nominations in 2025.
With hit album “Cowboy Carter” she is blurring the line between genres. Nominated for Pop album and Country album of the year. She is currently the artist with the most wins, with 32 grammy awards in her career, making history!
Beyonce has been one of the most impactful artists in pop music for a long time. It is no surprise that many artists thank Beyonce on stage. The “thank you beyonce” meme is a funny conspiracy theory but also takes away the real meaning behind how impactful she is to other artists. Specifically Adele winning the 2017 Album of the year, calling her “the artist of her life”.
“I think it’s great we’re seeing black women in Country music…Maybe because she’s new to the [county] category they won’t vote for her… or they won’t see her as a country artist deserving of the award,” Georgia Southern junior Allison Rollins said.
Who got left out?
According to the Rolling Stones and fans on twitter, the biggest artists to get snubbed this year were
- Ariana Grande “Eternal Sunshine” for best album
- Megan the Stallion “Hiss”
- Dua Lipa “Houdini”
- Tyla self titled debut album
- LISA “Rockstar”
Predictions and opinions:
In my opinion the Grammys have always overlooked rock/metal categories, sticking to artists they already know like Pearl Jam and Metallica. However this year hit me with surprises with Knocked Loose ft. POPPY was nominated for best metal performance along with SpiritBox.
The biggest snub controversy is Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour Film”, not making any nominations. Even though it was the highest-grossing concert film in history, according to @PopBase on X.
While many fans are seething, Taylor Swift has received six nominations in different categories this year. Including three nominations for “Fortnight” ft. Post Malone. While this may have been one of the highest grossing concert films, nominating it beside “American Symphony” and “June” makes me understand why it would be difficult to nominate the “Eras Tour” film.
Predictions for Best Pop Vocal Album
- “Short n’ Sweet”- Sabrina Carpenter
- “Hit Me Hard and Soft”- Billie Eilish
- “Eternal Sunshine”- Ariana Grande
- “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess”- Chappell Roan
- “The Tortured Poets Department”- Taylor Swift
Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short n Sweet” had multiple hit songs “Espresso”, “Please Please Please”, and “Taste” that all topped the billboard charts. The album is known for being an easy listen and it’s hard to escape on the radio. It would be extremely surprising if “Short n Sweet” didnt win this category, however Carpenter is also nominated for five other grammys.
I’d love to see Chappell Roan win this category personally. She has made history and changed the pop scene as we know it. She is also nominated for best New Artist and this would be her first Grammy of her career.
