As we wrap up the spring 2025 semester, the Inkwell staff wanted to share their favorite moments from the term.
Although we’re a small team, we worked together to publish dozens of articles, newsletters and create two print newspapers with Reflector, Statesboro’s student media group.
Isabella Frazier, Reporter and Videographer

Isabella (aka Izzy) is an incoming freshman who’s been with the Inkwell since she was 16 years old as a dual-enrollment student. She has contributed most to the Inkwell through her campus fashion recap series. She plans to continue her education at Georgia Southern on the Statesboro campus and work for Deep Dive, a unit within The George-Anne that focuses on DEI.
“In general, one of my favorite things would be just being able to talk to so many different people, and just get insights into, like, what they wear, why they wear it and where they get stuff from,” Frazier said. “I’ve met so many cool people.”
Her favorite article she wrote this semester was her Roots and Routines article, which provided insight into how African-American students maintain their hair in college.
Jasmin Brown, Reporter

This semester marked Jasmin Brown’s first go-around with the Inkwell. Every week she went out around Armstrong talking to students and staff, getting the latest scoop on various events and changes around campus. She plans to continue her position as a reporter next semester.
Brown said she enjoyed “learning more about what’s happening on campus, hearing different perspectives on different issues and developing my journalism skills.”
Her favorite article she wrote this semester was Students React to Trump’s Efforts to Get Rid of The Department of Education.
Gracie Nelson, Staff Writer

Gracie also began as a fresh face to the Inkwell this semester. She dedicated most of her time covering and taking photos of local events around Savannah.
Nelson particularly enjoyed photographing Savannah’s Slithering Parade because of the “colorful” images that “show a good sense of community.”
She will also write for the Inkwell next semester.
Mark Brown, Social Media Manager

Mark began this year at the Inkwell as our Social Media Manager. He brought a new life to our Instagram page by consistently posting graphics he designed and informing our audience of new stories we published.
“My favorite part about working with the Inkwell this semester was getting to know each and every one of the staff members, and becoming part of something that was larger than myself here at the university,” Brown said. “I really found a sense of team, community and dedication while working alongside each and every one of the members at the Inkwell.”
He will serve as Editor-in-Chief next semester.
Kylie Bacot, Editor-in-Chief

Kylie started as a staff writer at the Inkwell, eventually earning the position of Editor-in-Chief in fall 2024. She’s graduating this semester with a degree in Communication Studies.
“I really enjoyed having a larger staff this semester and growing as an editor, being able to work with different people’s writing styles,” Bacot said. “I’m gonna really miss everyone.”
Her favorite article she wrote this semester was her DEI article. She plans to continue pursuing journalism after graduation.
