The FitMind workshop hosted their second event of the year on Saturday April 13 in the Hollis Building. The FitMind series focuses on self care, movement and mindful living.
The sessions are aimed to charge, relax, and learn strategies to work into daily routines of the participants.
This week’s workshop included making candles, practicing yoga, and learning about meal nutrition.
The program partnered with Juve Wellness experts to provide information on ways to boost daily energy and discuss meal prep.
Every week the program aims to have different activities for participants to relieve stress.
“It’s not that we feel that we can change what stresses these individuals out. If we give them the tools to manage the stress then hopefully we’re keeping them in their jobs and giving them a way to not only manage their stress but help potentially manage their classroom,” said mindfulness lead Jessica Mutchler.
The program aims to implement strategies in their own routine outside of the workshops for teachers in need.
