Paddle boards, sunshine and a beautiful lake is what Georgia Southern students got to experience last Thursday at Lake Ruby. This was a free event for students held by campus recreation and intramural, that gave them a chance to unwind before finals and also try something new.
“I’ve never been paddle boarding before, so I was a little nervous, but it was so fun and super relaxing,” said student Inya Waller.
Students only needed to sign a waiver to participate, and all equipment was provided such as paddles, boards and life jackets. No experience was necessary.
“It’s awesome that they offer stuff like this for free, it’s a cool way to meet people and just get outside,” said student Kambre Gillespie.
With the weather warming up and the spring semester almost done, students say this was a perfect way to take a breather.
