It is the time of the year when students are gathering up notes from the semester, meeting word counts and creating study schedules for exams. These tasks are often overwhelming, and it is important to take a break. Students were able to take their minds off of cramming for exams and relax at Stress Free Day, an event hosted by Campus Recreation and Intramurals.
Stress Free Day was held in the Student Union Ballroom on Wednesday, Nov. 19. Students made bath salts, slime, vision boards, diamond dots and lego constructions at the event. Henna, nail painting, coloring, jenga and card game stations were also set up at Stress Free Day. A variety of relaxing teas was also available for students to make, and Domino’s pizza was provided as well.
For the event’s dog lovers, four therapy dogs of different breeds were present for people to pet and play with.
Stress Free Day was a positive distraction from the stress that comes with preparing for final exams and essays.
“It was nice to relax and be able to focus on things other than finals. I liked all the different activities they had and the puppies that were there,” said Jasmyn Capers, a sophomore on the Armstrong campus.
A variety of activities and organizations are open to students through Campus Recreation and Intramurals and can be found on the CRI website.
