Emergency Call Boxes not working due to lightning strike

Emergency call boxes on campus are not working as of the time of publication, according to this message from the Dean of Students:
“As a result of a lightning strike over the weekend, the emergency call boxes on campus are not working. Personnel are working to restore them as quickly as possible. Please remember to contact University Police Department at (912) 478-5234 or call 911.”
The message was signed by Chris McBride, Lieutenant Criminal Investigations.
Emergency call boxes are the blue light boxes with red buttons one can press to immediately contact the University Police Department. For more information, click here.
