Feb. 12 was Georgia Day, so here’s a fun fact about our little peach state: Did you know that the town of Gainesville, located right outside of Atlanta, is actually the largest producer of chicken in the entire world? The ‘chicken capital’ produces over 30 million pounds of chicken per year! At an average weight of five pounds per chicken, that’s about six million chickens, or about one hundred and twenty chickens per person currently living in Gainesville. I bet I can guess what they’re all tired of having for dinner!
