Students to compete in Screaming Eagles Lip Sync Battle Wednesday
November 7, 2016
The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is hosting the 3rd annual Screaming Eagles Lip Sync competition next week in the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center as a part of the Homecoming Week activities.
Screaming Eagles is an event where teams of five or more put on a performance showcasing talents such as lip syncing to lyrics, dancing and costume design, according to David Johnson, RHA vice president of programming.
The lip sync battle will take place on Nov. 9. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m.
Johnson said they are expecting a lot of competition between student organizations. Last year’s winners included Phi Mu, RHA and Delta Phi Epsilon.
Each member of the winning team will receive a $100 gift card to the University Book Store, with the second-place team will win $50 gift cards.
Johnson said, “This event is a marvelous opportunity for students to see professional organizations and peers in a less formal setting that is both fun and uplifting. We encourage all students to enjoy the talents of their peers and listen to some great music and have a few laughs.”
