1st Quarter
GASO- Ellison and his offense failed to pick up a first down after three runs up the middle.
App- Lamb picked up a first down on a quick pass. Two plays later, a tipped pass would be picked off by Eagle defender Darius Jones.
GASO- A personal foul put the Eagles inside the ten-yard line one play into the drive. An errant snap over the head of Ramsby would force a field goal from Koo. 3-0, 9:02 remaining.
App- Two big first downs put the Mountaineers at the Eagle 30-yard line. A bad snap on a field goal attempt was scooped up by Eagle linebacker Ukeme Eligwe for a 90-yard score. 10-0, 0:58 remaining.
2nd Quarter
App- The Mountaineers failed to pick up a first down and punted the ball away.
GASO- The Eagles went three and out before punting it away.
App-The Mountaineers worked into Eagle territory put were forced to punt again.
GASO- Freshman quarterback Shuman came into the game and picked up a first down. The Eagles couldn’t pick up another first down and were forced to punt.
App- A deep pass put App State inside the red zone to set up a 14-yard touchdown run from Lamb. 10-7, 6:22 remaining.
GASO- A penalty started the Eagle drive at their own nine-yard line. The offense went three and out before punting the ball away.
App- Lamb dropped back to throw and threw deep and his pass was picked off by Jay Bowdry.
GASO- Shuman came back into the game but a pass over the middle would be picked off and the Mountaineers would regain possession.
App- A big pass on 3rd and 16 kept the drive alive. The drive would end with a field goal to tie things up. 10-10, 1:15 remaining.
GASO- The Eagles killed the clock on the ground to end the half.
