Johnny Lu

On average of $2,000 in energy bills yearly, energy is one of America’s biggest household expenses for consumers.

Georgia has landed itself as one of 2015’s least energy efficient states in America. Falling within the bottom ten least energy efficient states, Georgia is #40. With the exception of Alaska and Hawaii (due to data limitations), Georgia was ranked based on factors of car and home energy consumption in 48 states.

Georgia possesses a home energy rank of 45 and a car energy rank of 13 according to Wallet Hub. The average score of Georgia’s energy consumption and efficiency came out to be a total of 42.44.

Neighboring states rank similarly to Georgia as South Carolina had been named the worst energy efficient state with no southern state ranking within the top ten best energy efficient states.
