After a quiet start to hurricane season in 2015, Florida is preparing to be hit by a hurricane for the first time in 10 years, and Statesboro could be affected by the storm.

CNN is reporting that tropical storm Erika, which is currently moving through the Caribbean, is projected to be upgraded to a hurricane as it makes landfall on the south Atlantic coast of Florida Monday morning.

According to the storm projector on CNN’s website, the storm is projected to remain a hurricane as it moves up the coast into Tuesday morning. According to the storm projector, it’s at this point that Statesboro will be affected by the storm.
