On Thursday, the Georgia Southern Football team celebrated the 2014 Sun Belt Conference Title in a small reception at President Brooks Keel’s home.

“Just a few guys over [to] the house! Honored to have @GSAthletics_FB team managers/trainers [to] celebrate @SunBelt Champs!,” Keel tweeted.

The event is part of Keel and First Lady Dr. Tammie Schalue’s tradition to host Georgia Southern championship winning teams to a reception at their home. Since the team is currently on spring practice, they took a break to enjoy an evening of great food and friendship to commemorate this achievement.

“It is huge for us,” Willie Fritz, Georgia Southern Head Football Coach, said, “There are not a whole lot of presidents who do that so we appreciate that. It’ll be a neat deal – fun and another chance for us to grow closer as a football team.”
