Georgia Southern softball catcher AJ Hamilton has been named Sun Belt Player of the Week after the three-game sweep over Appalachian State.

Hamilton hit a .667 in the series with a 1.222 slugging percentage. She was able to reach base nine times in 13 total plate appearances that included a pair of doubles, a home run, five runs scored, and seven RBIs.

Her home run was a two-run homer that allowed the Eagles to win 6-5 in eight innings of game two of the series. Hamilton’s single in the sixth inning of game three, resulted in a 11-6 win over rival App. State.

The team begins a five game road-trip today in Jacksonville with a doubleheader and ends on a weekend series at South Alabama.
