Statesboro PD offers active shooter training sessions

The Statesboro Police Department is giving free training sessions on what to do in the event of an active shooter.

The sessions will take place tonight and on March 6 at 6:30p.m. at the Statesboro Police Station on 25 West Grady Street.

The presentations is called “Tips on Surviving the Active Shooter” and was developed by Statesboro Police Department’s Training Bureau Lieutenant Kaleb Moore.

Lieutenant Moore has 20 years of law enforcement experience, over half of which was served on Statesboro Police Department’s Emergency Response Team.

The information given during the presentation is based on recommendations from the Department of Homeland Security and the United States Army.
