Georgia Southern softball (8-25, 1-11 SBC) ended their weekend series against the University of Louisiana Monroe (24-8, 8-2 SBC) with a 6-0 loss at home.

With a shaky first inning that conceived two runs, the Eagles settled down and played well defensively, but could not hold up to the bats of the Redhawks.

The Eagles’ bats weren’t as present as the last two games of the series, as they only combined for a total of three hits throughout the game. The Eagles had an opportunity in the fourth inning to gain some ground on the Redhawks with the bases loaded and two outs, but the Redhawks sealed the inning with catching a pop fly for an out.

Freshman pitcher, Heather Felt, finished the game allowing 10 hits and six earned runs, as well as, six strikeouts and three walks. Sophomore left fielder, Emily Snyder, finished the game one for two as well as junior third baseman Michelle Mazur and second baseman Alesha Mann.

The Eagles prepare for their next weekend series at Appalachian State (9-20, 0-12 SBC) Friday April 3 at 4 p.m.
