App Update: WiGo

WiGo, short for “Who Is Going Out?,” is a new hyperlocal app that is quickly changing the game of hanging out in college.

The app was designed by Ben Kaplan, a 22-year-old college dropout from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.

The app is simple, helping users know what’s going on every night, and see who is going to be there. Parties, game days, restaurants and philanthropy events can be viewed on the app, and also shows everyone with an account that’ll be attending.

The app is strictly college-based, and for your area only.

“Our student-only filter blocks all townies, adults and other randos,” says the WiGo website. To register, students must have a .edu email address. There has to be a certain amount of people registered from a school for the app to unlock for a campus.
