Director of Athletics, Tom Kleinlein, announced Alexander ‘Sander’ Koning as Georgia Southern’s new head coach for men’s tennis on Monday.

Koning comes to Georgia Southern with years of experience in coaching and playing from all over the world, in both collegiate and professional levels.

“I like the ambitious goals set by the Georgia Southern athletics department, and I want to help the men’s tennis program exceed expectations and bring it to new heights,” Koning said.

Koning was a student athlete and volunteer assistant coach at Clemson University, the assistant men’s tennis coach at Old Dominion University from 2011-14, and most recently served as assistant men’s tennis coach at Indiana University.
