After a disheartening loss to their in-state rivals on Thursday, the Lady Eagles looked for solace against the University of Louisiana-Monroe. The Warhawks proved to be too much as they left Hanner with a victory, 58-50.

Things started bad for the Lady Eagles as they fell behind on a five minute 12-2 run. Junior forward Patrice Butler broke the drought, followed by a bucket from senior Anna Claire Knight. They battled back to keep the game at 12-8.  Georgia Southern became nearly unstoppable as they held off the Warhawks to no points for six minutes and rallied to make it 14-12. After Knight dropped a three pointer, ULM gained momentum and pushed their lead to 22-15. Both teams went back and forth for the remainder of the half and it ended with ULM on top.

Knight and the Lady Eagles came out swinging in the second half. Two three pointers, with one from Knight and one from Alexis Sams, put the Eagles in the lead, 32-31. It was a defensive battle for both teams as rebound and steals were the story for the first ten minutes. The Warhawks began to pull away and make it a 40-32 game. The home team refused to go quietly as they drained four points of their own. Sophomore Angel McGowan kept the team alive along with Butler to pull their team within two points of the lead again. 

With four minutes left in the game, both teams were chomping at the bit for a victory. The Lady Eagles found themselves behind 46-42 and were in need of another spark. ULM gave them plenty of free throw opportunities as they racked up nine fouls so far in the night. The Warhawks managed to stay one step ahead every time GS scored. They would go on to finish off the Lady Eagles 58-50. Knight ended the game leading the team with 15 points.
