Women’s rifle finishes third in SEARC 6

Georgia Southern’s women’s rifle team finished third at SEARC 6 with a composite score of 4293.

Emmy Johnson and Katherine Youngblood both excelled in small bore; they both shot new career high scores at the competition. Johnson posted a 526 and Youngblood a 521. Tori Lewis shot a 517, and Ale Shortridge scored a 515.

In the air rifle event, Tori Lewis led the rest of the Eagles with a score of 564. Becky Collier shot a 551 while Shortridge trailed close behind with a 550. Youngblood rounded out the counters with a 549.

The overall score of 4293 was the Eagles’ second highest of the season; they finished third overall in small bore with a score of 2079 and fourth in air rifle with a score of 2214.

The Eagles will be back in action on February 21 at SEARC 7 in Charleston, S.C.
