Men’s basketball post season run cut short by the coronavirus

The Sun Belt has decided to cancel the remaining games of the 2020 Sun Belt Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships in light of the concerns surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19).

The announcement comes just an hour after the Sun Belt Conference announced the remaining games would be played “with only student-athletes, coaches, essential staff, officials, broadcast network staffs, credentialed media and limited immediate family members of the participating teams present.”

The news comes off as heartbreaking news for the Eagles as they had looked as if they were playing their best basketball of the season after a blowout win against in state rival Georgia State.
