Weekend of March 6: What you missed in Georgia Southern athletics

Here’s what you missed this weekend in Georgia Southern Athletics…

Men’s Basketball 

The men’s basketball team played Arkansas State last Tuesday and lost 76-75 by a late free throw. 

Women’s Basketball

The women’s basketball team played Georgia State on Saturday and won 77-74 after Barber’s clutch three-pointer, which qualified the team for the Sun Belt Tournament.

What’s next?

The women’s basketball team will play on Tuesday against Louisiana on the road for the first game of the Sun Belt Tournament.

Baseball

The baseball team started off their week with a 6-3 win last Tuesday against No.4 UGA. The team then played against Valaparaiso in a three-game series over the weekend where they grabbed a sweep.

What’s next?

The baseball team will play against UGA on Tuesday in North Augusta, South Carolina.

Softball

The softball team played against ULM this weekend, starting Friday with a 9-6 win, Saturday with a 4-3 win, and losing Sunday 3-6. 

What’s next?

The softball team will play College of Charleston this Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Men’s Tennis

The men’s tennis team played and won 5-2 this Saturday against Winthrop.

What’s next?

The team will play next this Friday against Youngstown State at 10 a.m.

Women’s Tennis

The women’s tennis team played this past Saturday against College of Charleston and lost 3-4. The team finished the weekend strong winning Sunday 7-0 against both UNC Wilmington and ABAC. 

What’s next?

The women’s tennis team will play next on Wednesday against Toledo at 2:00 p.m.
