The Student Government Association announced at their meeting Wednesday that there will be no new president for the remainder of the spring semester.

In January, Juwan Smith stepped down from his position as the SGA president for Georgia Southern University. SGA then held an election between Kahria Hadley and Spencer DeMink, who are the executive vice presidents of the Statesboro and Armstrong campuses respectively.

Neither candidate received the required 2/3 majority among the senate vote, leaving the SGA advisors to formulate an alternative plan.

In an effort to strive for equity and fairness, the two candidates will split the duties of president for the remainder of the semester while retaining their titles as executive vice presidents.
