Statesboro law enforcement have made arrests in a drug prescription fraud scheme that reached all the way to Atlanta.

According to a press release, the Statesboro-Bulloch Crime Suppression Team has been investigating multiple suspects using forged prescription pads at different pharmacies to get prescription drugs.

Hydrocodone and Oxycontin were two of the most popular drugs picked up by the suspects who would then sell them on the black market.

Multiple search warrants were issued of the suspect’s homes, including popular student housing complex The Grove. Two arrests were made there.

After the SBCST reached out to detectives in Metro Atlanta, law enforcement made three arrests in the Atlanta area.

In all, 11 arrests were made in Statesboro in relation to the case.
