Sweetheart Circle was the place to be at last Saturday for Artsfest of 2014.

“If estimated, there was around 5,000 people in total,” Stephanie Neal, director of Artsfest said.

With the weather being just right for this event, all 30 art stops were bursting with community members either getting their faces painted, dancing with The Guru Crew or making their popular tie-dyed Artsfest t-shirts.

Live performances from the Balefire dancers amazed the crowd with their igniting fire routines and the School of Rock bands had people up dancing to their tunes.

What got some of the braver attendee’s attention were the snakes from the Humane Society of Statesboro/Bulloch County. People lined up to have a chance to hold and touch the intimidating creatures.

Beautiful jewelry and art was also being sold to the customers.

Renee Richards, freshman fashion major, said, “I am so shocked that these pieces of jewelry are so pretty. I couldn’t resist, I had to buy a bracelet.”
