RumRunners Plantation Room sign is currently face down on the roof of the bar.

Tuesday morning between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 6:46 a.m., Rumrunners Plantation Room’s controversial new sign was vandalized.

The sign was found with red spray paint and later cleaned. No information regarding what the red paint depicted has been released.

In addition to the sign, a bench on the porch of Rumrunners was also marked with black spray paint. The spray paint spelled out “J. DAVIS” across the back of the bench.

Rumrunners Plantation Room has caught some recent criticism from the Statesboro and Georgia Southern University community because of the sign change more prominently featuring the words “Plantation Room.”
