Turning things around for themselves, the Georgia Southern University baseball team beat Xavier University 7-5 stopping a four game losing streak by exploding for four runs in the fifth inning.

For the ninth time in 10 games this season the Eagles scored in the first inning, leading the Musketeers 2-0 after the first inning.

Pitching for the Musketeers really helped out the Eagles throughout the game as they walked eight Eagles at the plate including one walk and one hit by pitch that brought in two of the four runs scored in the fifth inning.

Freshman pitcher Jason Richman picked up the win for the Eagles after allowing four runs in five innings.

Junior relief pitcher Matt McCall picked up the save for GSU allowing only one run after pitching the final four innings.

Final game of the Xavier/GSU series is tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at J.I. Clements Stadium to determine the series winner.
