Kiwanis Fair returns to Statesboro
October 7, 2021
After cancellations last year, the Kiwanis Fair is coming back to Statesboro in just 11 days, with extended hours for more opportunity to enjoy the funnel cakes, shows and rides.
The Kiwanis Club’s Fair Committee determined that longer operating hours would allow more people the opportunity to enjoy the fair after cancelling last year for the first time in almost a lifetime. With this said, the fair will now open every afternoon at 4 p.m. and close at midnight, with ticket sales ending at 10 p.m, starting October 18.
Monday will open at 6 p.m. for the parade, and Saturday will open at noon. Friday night, there will be Moonlight Madness, where the fair will remain open until 1 a.m.
As the world continues to navigate the pandemic, the Kiwanis club will provide sanitation stations throughout the fairgrounds, and will take extra precautionary measures in hopes to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, according to a press release.
“While masks will not be required, they are encouraged for the safety of all fair-goers as well as the volunteers who work tirelessly to put on the annual six-day event,” said the press release.
The Kiwanis Club hosts the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair annually as a fundraiser to raise profits that will be donated into Statesboro and its surrounding community.
The fair will be from Monday October 18 thru Saturday October 23. Tickets at the gate are $10, but they can also be bought on the fair’s website in advance for $8, and you’ll get to skip the ticket line.
