Eagles basketball pulls through with first win after back to back losses

After losing their season opener to San Jose 63-28 and losing a close battle against Santa Clara 78-62, the Eagles managed to pull through during their 3rd game against Trinity Baptist 53-32.

Georgia Southern held Trinity Baptist to a 20% shooting percentage during their first home game of the season,Trinity Baptist’s shooting percentage was the second-lowest for an Eagle opponent since the 1985-86 season (Carver – 19 percent – Dec. 15, 2020).

  • GS finished with 10 blocks coming close to breaking the school record 
  • This was also the annual TP game where fans threw throw rolls of toilet paper after the eagles first 

 Andrei Savrasov lead the eagles in points and got his first career double double having 16 points, 11 rebounds and three steals.

  •  Tyren Moore had 8 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal
  •  Jalen Finch finished with 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
  •  Kamari Brown notched 6 points, 2 rebounds 2 steals and a career-high 5 blocked shots.

Whats next: The Eagles travel to Houston, Texas, for three games in the Owl Invitational next week. GS will take on Rice (Nov. 18), Houston Christian (Nov. 19) and Western Michigan (Nov.20).
