With falling temperatures, people crave those warm winter comfort foods. Earlier this week, the George-Anne Reflector sent out a survey asking students to choose their favorite and explain why. Here’s what students had to say:
Junior, Breana Manning’s, favorite winter comfort food is soup.
- “Its warm and flavorful! I do consider chicken and dumpling as a soup though. My personal favorite is either chicken & dumplings or pozole,” Manning said.
Senior, Lorena Martinez’s, favorite winter comfort food is spaghetti with crunchy garlic bread.
- “My mom makes the best spaghetti with ground chicken. It’s perfect with some crunchy garlic bread on the side,” Martinez said.
Junior, Arieonn Lonon’s, favorite winter comfort food is chili.
- “It’s warm and makes you think of home,” Lonon said.
Senior, Blake Williams’, favorite winter comfort food is a loaded baked potato.
- “You can’t go wrong with a loaded BBQ baked potato,” Williams said.
Junior, Sasha Simpson’s, favorite winter comfort foods include a burrito, chicken, grilled cheese, a loaded baked potato, mac and cheese, soup, spaghetti and meatballs, a veggie bowl, and spicy foods.
- “Because they have flavor, especially spicy food. I will eat anything hot and spicy,” Simpson said.
