Why Are There Red Flags?

Red Flag Campaign

The Red Flag Campaign encourages friends and other campus community members to write their warning signs or “red flags” for sexual assault, dating violence, or stalking in a friends relationship.

Today from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm is the last day to write your own “red flag” and get more information surrounding dating and relationship violence. Stop by the Student Health and Wellness Promotion’s table outside of Lakeside Dining Commons.

The flags are located by the Rotunda, Lakeside, College of Education Building, and Starbucks.

The Clothesline Project

The Clothesline Project is a campus-wide display of shirts representing survivors and supporters of sexual violence displayed in the Russel Union, Recreation Activity Center, and the Henderson Library from April 8th to April 19th.

Stop by Student Health and Wellness Promotion’s table in the Russell Union from 10 am until 2 pm or the Henderson Library from 2 pm to 5 pm to create a new t-shirt and get information regarding sexual assault.

The t-shirts that you create this year, will become part of this display and future displays each year!

Denim Day

Denim Day was developed by Peace Over Violence after the Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape conviction. They ruled that the victim helped the rapist remove her tight jeans, implying that she gave consent. The following day, women in the Italian Parliament wore jeans to work in solidarity with the victim.
