Beach Bash is back this year at Tybee Island with lots of music, food, and activities for
Georgia Southern students.
The Annual Beach Bash historically happens after the first week of the fall semester,
and is celebrated to start the new school year.
The Office of Student Activities creates a fun environment for students to enjoy games
and contests such as corn hole, tug-of-war, and limbo.
For some students, Beach Bash is a way to get out and meet new people to start the
semester off right.
“I’m a person who like I really love the beach. So just being here in general and I grew
up like coming to Savannah a lot and Tybee Island,” said Freshman Aaliyah Rhodes. “So just being here and like experiencing new things, especially since it’s my first year in college, that’s really just being here in general.”
At this year’s Beach Bash, the final attendance was 480 students.
“I’m excited because this gives students a break from the week, you know we started
classes on Wednesday,” said OSA Director, Memory Littles. “So this is just an exciting time for students to celebrate, beginning their first week at Georgia Southern, rewind and get away from campus.”
