The Office of Student Activities hosted the Stress Free Zone yesterday.
An evening with relaxing activities such as calming music, personalized sugar scrubs, DIY eye masks and slippers as well as an opportunity to enjoy an oxygen bar.
Students were able to pick from a variety of bases for their scrubs such as sea salt, brown sugar, and white sugar. Essential oils were next, including popular scents like lavender and almond. Lastly, students were able to add various skin-boosting additives such as Vitamin E, Jojoba oil, coconut oil and more.
Sophomore radiology science major Sage Arthur took the time to show off her sugar scrub and give details on her ingredients.
“I got brown sugar with vanilla, coconut milk, and cinnamon. I think it smells like a Gingerbread Cookie,” she said.
Other students focused on the oxygen bars. Despite being nervous to try the bar for the first time, freshman nursing major Addison Wiley said she enjoyed it.
“I really like the oxygen bar. It’s pretty calming actually,” she said. Wiley also made a vanilla cherry scented sugar scrub.
Overall, students rated the Stress Free Zone a relaxing and calming experience ahead of finals.
