Statesboro offers something for everyone, with local markets, restaurants, parks and upcoming developments; there is more to explore past the campus.
Coffee Shops
Three Tree has been in the Statesboro community for eight years, offering classic coffee, teas and a rotating seasonal menu. The shop has two locations in Statesboro, the main location is on South Main Street, and another shop is located in the Zach S. Henderson Library.
Cool Beanz Espresso Bar is a coffee shop located in downtown Statesboro, which features an array of handcrafted beverages and pastries.
Markets
The Statesboro Vintage Market is a traveling vintage market that features vintage clothes from over 20 vendors. The market travels to different parts of Statesboro every weekend; the schedule is available on their social media page.
The Statesboro Farmers Market is a seasonal market located on South Main Street. It is open every Saturday, from April to November. Over 60 vendors are set up and feature local arts, crafts, and food.
The Outdoors
Mill Creek Park is on State Road 24 on the east side of Statesboro. The park has nature trails and is home to Splash in the Boro, a seasonal waterpark and aquatic center.
George L. Smith State Park is located in Twin City, Georgia and is roughly 40 minutes from Statesboro. This park has views over swampy marshland, and kayaks are available to rent on-site.
Local Stores
Two Story Books and Coffeehouse is a local bookstore inside a historic house on North Main Street. There is a wide collection of books along with a coffee shop located within the store.
Charlie’s Funky Junk Shop is a vintage store located on West Main Street. The store has an assortment of antique clothes, jewelry and vinyls.
Student Opinions
Capers Childs, sophomore, said, “My favorite hangout spot in Statesboro is Del Sur because of the fun atmosphere,” Childs said. “Their food is some of my favorite in Statesboro as well.”
Claire Shockley, sophomore, said, “I really like going to the baseball grounds on the weekend,” Shockley said. “I grew up playing baseball and it’s really nice to have a baseball field here in Statesboro.”
Future Plans
Statesboro is an up and coming city with a growing student population. Businesses such as Dutch Bros, Kroger, HomeGoods and Raising Canes all have plans to move into the Statesboro market within the next year.
