Hello Eagles!
Today from 11-2, I want to see all of you at the Russell Union Rotunda for the 2026 Reflector Spotlight! This is our annual Reflector Magazine release party, and we can’t wait to celebrate it with our best audience.
This year’s magazine theme is Power in the Details. We came up with this theme after thinking about the little details that make up our community and who we are as people. We spent the first semester finding people and places that want to share their stories with us. We coordinated interviews, photoshoots, and real, honest conversations to find out what means most.
Today, we get to celebrate that. We have been working tirelessly since August putting this project together, and it’s quite surreal knowing that the day has finally come for everyone to enjoy it. So, see us at the Rotunda to pick up your copy and enjoy our activities! We will have mocktails, tote bag painting, live music and more.
Now, before opening your magazine, allow me to introduce you to the four sections that make it up:
A Taste of the Details:
This section focuses on Georgia Southern’s favorite foods and drinks. Here, you’ll get to have a look at what makes up your favorite places to grab a bite or a nice drink.
The Details of Style:
This section highlights a group of students who showcase their personality through their fashion. We get to see how they pick their pieces to curate the perfect fit. In doing so, we also learn more about just a few voices on this campus.
The Details of Belonging:
This section focuses on what happens in Statesboro that brings everyone together. Themed nights at a restaurant, your favorite local band, whatever it may be, we get to see why Statesboro and the Georgia Southern community is so important to them.
The Details that Define Us:
This section takes a deep dive into student voices. They tell their stories while showcasing items that they feel represent them best. The stories are filled with anecdotes and quotes that these students shared when they were asked about themselves and what got them to where they are today.
Everyone here at Student Media is thrilled to release this project. We hope you all enjoy is just as much as we do!
