The Academic Success Locker is a free school supply resource for students, located on the first floor of the Henderson Library.
Eli Hall is a leader at the Academic Success Center and created the idea of a free locker for students needing supplies.
“A student who I was working with was talking about scantrons and how they are inaccessible to students across campus,” Hall said. “Students have a right to academic materials and that’s why I created this locker.”
The locker opened in summer 2025 and serves 475 students on all three Georgia Southern campuses. Terika Williams is a coach with the Academic Success Center and talked about what students can expect at the locker.
“We have items like binders, calculators, index cards, scantrons and pencils for students who need them,” Williams said. “Our supplies are largely based on what we have in stock.”
Students just need to scan their Eagle ID to use the locker, and assistants are there if you need help finding the supplies you need.
The Student Success Locker is powered by donations. Williams spoke about how people can give back to students on campus in need.
“We are trying to collaborate with organizations on campus to potentially hold drives and fundraisers for the locker,” Williams said. “If a student wants to donate, you are encouraged to go to the first floor of the library and drop it off at the Academic Success Center.”
Hall talked about the locker and its future vision here on campus.
“I feel optimistic about the future of the locker, access to supplies is a student right,” Hall said. “As an institution, we are here to serve students; it aligns with the university’s mission and we are a safe space.”
