George-Anne Staff: Tell me about your role with SGA?
Eeshani Malkar: I am part of the Freshman council currently, and we are working on our legacy week. I am also one of the two, up and coming senators for the Honors College.
George-Anne Staff: Why did you decide to run for an SGA position?
Eeshani Malkar: After being in Freshman Council I realized I wanted to do more within SGA, I especially wanted to build more connections and have activities for my college, so I decided to run for an SGA position.
George-Anne Staff: What do you plan to do within your position?
Eeshani Malkar: I plan to make sure honors students have access to convey any feelings they have about their surroundings, from wanting more activities to wanting more resources. I want to be able to bridge the gap of communication and make sure they get what they need.
George-Anne Staff: What do you want people to know about SGA?
Eeshani Malkar: People assume SGA is just for students who are very involved in school or that it’s strictly for people who are leaders, but what I want people to know is that SGA is for any student who has a goal and wants their education to be better. Whether that means they want more activities academically or recreationally, SGA can help accommodate that.
George-Anne Staff: What can students expect from SGA next year?
Eeshani Malkar: Students can expect more growth. I plan to implement more tabling and getting our senators out on campus more.
