Eagles Women’s Basketball Taps Heather Macy as New Head Coach
Following former head coach Hana Haden’s recent departure for the University of Memphis, Georgia Southern has officially found the next leader for the women’s basketball program: Heather Macy.
Macy arrives in Statesboro after a successful run at Nova Southeastern University, where she recently led the Sharks to a 29-5 record, a conference tournament title, and their fourth consecutive NCAA tournament appearance.
Taking over as the 10th head coach in program history, Macy brings over two decades of coaching experience to the court. With a proven track record of building 20-win seasons at every collegiate level she’s coached, she brings a heavy dose of winning experience to Eagle Nation as the team looks ahead to its next chapter.
A date for an official introduction of Macy is expected to be announced by Georgia Southern Athletics.
