SAVANNAH — Students who are denied admission from Georgia Southern now have an option to begin their studies at Ogeechee Technical College (OTC) and transfer to GS at a later date.

President Kyle Marrero and OTC President Lori Durden met Wednesday to sign a memorandum of understanding establishing the accelerated transfer program (ATP), set to begin in the upcoming fall semester.

“Ogeechee Tech and Georgia Southern have been partners in education for many years,” said Durden. “This is another significant step in ensuring a smooth transition between our two institutions.”

GS advisors and admissions counselors will collaborate with OTC advisors and work with ATP students to ensure academic success and a seamless transfer experience between OTC and GS.

“Georgia Southern University is committed to providing opportunities for student success,” said Marrero. “We are proud to partner with Ogeechee Tech to provide students with the tools and support they need to excel.”
