On Saturday evening, Tara Smith was crowned Miss Georgia Peach 2015 at the annual pageant held at Fort Valley State University.

Smith currently attends Georgia Southern University, majoring in marketing with an emphasis in sales and sales management.

In addition, She is a member of Phi Eta Sigma, honors organization at Georgia Southern. Smith serves as the Children’s Ministry intern at First Baptist Church Statesboro and is currently a Georgia Southern majorette. She also competes at Miss America system pageants, where she twirls the baton for her talent, according to The Telegraph.

“I really think it is more of an art than a sport, but it takes so much dedication,” Smith told The Telegraph.

Smith won the interview and photogenic competitions at Miss Georgia Peach. According to The Telegraph, talent is not a requirement for the Miss Georgia Peach.
