Feed the Boro hosts Thanksgiving food drop

Briyanna Thompson, Correspondent

Starting this Saturday, Feed the Boro will be hosting a food drive for families and students in need.

Anyone is welcome to come and get free food. They will provide frozen items, fresh produce along with meat.

This Saturday is their pre-Thanksgiving food drop where they will provide food to families in need before the holidays.

There will be drive thru food drops on November 20, December 4 and January 15 through Feed the Boro: Food Drop.

The first food drop will be this Saturday at 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. or until all food has been distributed in the Statesboro High School parking lot.

Participants will not get to choose their food items but they will receive a box of food that would last a family of 4 for 1 week.  Participants will also be asked for general information during the process of receiving food, but there is no requirement to prove financial need to get food.

They are also looking for donations and volunteers

Students can contact Georgia Southern’s Assistant Dean, Casey Weaver for any questions or additional information. Students can also visit FeedtheBoro.com or Feed the Boro on facebook for more information.
