Lime Scooters were present on campus during the 22-23 school year, but vanished over the summer.
What Happened: The convenient scooters were removed from campus this past summer, according to an email from Engagement & Communications Strategist April Burke.
- “Since we do not have a contract with Lime we do not have an official date,” said Burke.
- Due to the lack of a contract there is not an official removal date or reason as to why the scooters were removed.
What’s New: On May 18, 2023, the Statesboro Herald released an article detailing the city wanting to regulate the scooters.
- “Although the Lime Scooters have been an item we at the City are observing, there have been no new regulations passed regarding these,” said Planning and Housing Administrator Justin Williams.
