Georgia Southern Kicker Younghoe Koo has been suspended for Saturday’s home opener against Western Michigan after he was arrested by Georgia Southern University Police for DUI.

According to police records, the junior Ridgewood, New Jersey native was arrested on Lanier Drive early Monday morning with a blood alcohol concentration of .08.

Georgia Southern confirmed Koo’s arrest and said he is suspended for Saturday’s game but would not comment when asked if Koo would miss any later games.

Koo, who made national headlines last month with a video of him kicking a field goal while performing a back flip, was set to serve as Georgia Southern’s place kicker in 2015. Last season, Koo served as backup to current senior Alex Hanks. Koo did not attempt any kicks in Saturday’s blowout loss to West Virginia.

With Koo suspended, Hanks will serve as the place kicker for the Eagles. Hanks has struggled in the first three years of his college career. For his career, Hanks has made just 57.6 % (19 for 33) of attempted field goals and only 90% (98 for 107) of extra points.
